Translate are hosting an event on the 9th of July 3-5pm at Horizon Leeds [2 Brewery Wharf, Kendell Street, Leeds LS10 1JR].
The Medtech in the Leeds City Region Strength in Places Fund Consultation is open to the whole healthcare sector.
The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) recently announced a new competitive funding scheme that takes a place-based approach to research and innovation funding – to support significant regional growth. Further information about the Strength in Places Fund (SIPF) is available at https://www.ukri.org/funding/funding-opportunities/strength-in-places-fund/
Bids are expected to be in the region of £10-50M, over 3-5 years duration, and must demonstrate strong impact on local productivity; enhanced collaboration between HEIs, business, and local leadership (LEPs); and set out how actors will continue to work together to deliver a shared vision for economic growth. The emphasis is on business needs met by existing research strengths.
Building on the outcomes of the Opportunities & Growth: Medical Technologies in the Leeds City Region Science & Innovation Audit, the Leeds City Region will submit an expression of interest led by John Fisher at the University of Leeds focusing on medtech research and innovation-led economic growth in the Leeds City Region.
This consultation event will provide an opportunity to hear about the initial plans and feed in to the development of the expression of interest submission (deadline 25 July).
