A world leading laparoscopic device, which uses pioneering flex technology to offer surgeons better rigidity during delicate surgical procedures, has been described as an ‘innovative cost effective solution’ by surgeons worldwide.
Logi™Flex - a flexible laparoscopic device - was unveiled at the World congress of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) last week by British based Surgical Innovations - the designer and manufacturer of innovative surgical devices.
Specially developed in conjunction with laparoscopic surgeons who understand the needs of clinicians and patients, the Logi™Flex uses innovative resposable™ technology to deliver the cost effectiveness of a reusable instrument with the optimum performance of a disposable.
Its sterile insert provides a solution to gastric banding, with the flexible tip featuring a ‘cut down’ profile allowing for easy insertion of the instrument through the retro gastric tunnel. It also incorporates a unique slot design which provides a positive grip on the suture allowing the band to be pulled into position with the minimum of inconvenience.
Another unique feature of Logi™Flex is the availability of individual patented tip options; providing a bespoke solution to each and every manufacturer of gastric bands.
Graham Bowland, Managing Director of Surgical Innovations said: “We are passionate about our products and have spent a long time liaising with laparoscopic surgeons to ensure that our advanced flex technology meets the needs of both clinicians and patients.
“In this current financial climate surgeons are looking for products which have enhanced performance capabilities but are cost effective and Surgical Innovations fit this market perfectly.
“The IFSO World Congress was the perfect platform for us to launch the Logi™Flex and meet laparoscopic surgeons from around the world. We are delighted with the feedback we received and are looking forward to supplying hospitals around the world with our new device.”
The World Congress took place from 26 – 29 August at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
Attending the event on behalf of Surgical Innovations was one of the UK’s foremost laparoscopic surgeons and original co-founder of the company Professor M J McMahon.
Also in attendance were Chairman Doug Liversidge CBE, Managing Director Graham Bowland, Technical Director Mike White, Designers Vhairi Maxwell and Chris Harrison and Marketing Manager James Bowland.
