Medilink Healthcare Business Awards were held on 15th May 2019 in Solihull and saw leading companies, from across the UK, praised for their achievements and contributions to the life sciences sector.
Winning businesses were chosen from an exclusive shortlist comprised entirely of winners from each of the regional Medilink awards in five categories – Start-Up Award, Innovation Award, Export Achievement, Outstanding Achievement and Collaboration with the NHS.
The prestigious ceremony, held in association with Med-Tech, also recognised the companies’ successes in the Connected Health Award, Design Award, Engineering Award, Industry 4.0 Award and Materials Innovation Award.
This year, the Export Achievement Award was handed to the Medilink North of England member – Paxman Coolers Ltd, based in Huddersfield. Paxman’s cold cap system has helped more than 100,000 cancer patients in more than 25 countries to help retain their hair during chemotherapy.
Prescot based company, NeedleSmart brought pride to the region and was announced as the runner in the Start-Up Award category for its development of a market-leading technology that heats hypodermic needles into a molten state, prior to compressing it into a completely safe ball.
Nick Rodgers, vice-chair of Medilink UK commented: “The Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards have been a raging success once again. Congratulations to all of the award winners, runners up and finalists.
