Sheffield based surgical instrument manufacturer, Platts and Nisbett, is donating a range of specialist instruments to surgeons working in the disaster torn capital of Haiti, after hearing about a relative’s heroic actions to rescue a survivor who had been trapped underground for 11 days.
UK manufacturer Anetic Aid Ltd is working with its Middle East partners to demonstrate the benefits of day surgery – an approach to treatment which has transformed working practices in the NHS. The company has developed a specialist system that combines the maneovrability of a patient trolley with the key attributes of an operating table – specifically for this purpose.
