Forward thinking European medical device specialist, Tomorrow Options, is travelling to Germany to source international business and look for Commercial opportunities at MEDICA – the world’s largest healthcare fair.

Tomorrow Options is an innovative high-tech medical device manufacturer with a well established European direction. With offices in both the UK and Portugal, the team are always looking to expand internationally.

MEDICA will allow them to meet potential business partners from across the globe, establish relationships with other international companies, potential partners for the internationalisation of their products and talk to R&D Institutions that can get involved with the company and support the development of new products.

They will be showcasing their electronic medical device at the event - WalkinSense - a portable and wireless medical device. Both easy to use and non-invasive, the device gathers and processes data of lower limb movements during walking, measuring both patient mobility patterns and plantar pressure. WalkinSense is used by health technicians that deal with diabetic foot disorders -a problem that causes foot ulcers and lower limbs amputations; with reports estimating diabetic foot being responsible for one limb amputation every 30 seconds.

Being lightweight and portable, the device allows patients to continue their everyday lives whilst being monitored. The quantitative and qualitative information gathered and processed by this device can be transferred (via Bluetooth or USB cable) to a computer to be analyzed with the user-friendly software supplied together. The software was developed to be used by any health technician in a simple and easy way, without need of any computer expertise - saving valuable time for healthcare professionals.

WalkinSense is easy to use and can last up to five days without recharging the battery.

Originality, authenticity and creativity are the key factors in Tomorrows Options success and Paulo Ferreira dos Santos, CEO, of the company hopes MEDICA will be another step in the right direction.

“MEDICA offers us the perfect stage to platform our innovative and forward thinking products. With offices in both Portugal and the UK, we are proof that cross continental business works and we are eager to find more opportunities of partnerships to commercialise our innovative products and to future developments ”.
