The South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust's innovation team is organising an event which will bring together NHS staff and all stakeholders engaged in community health services, such as
charities, companies, researchers and patient groups, to learn about innovative initiatives in the community healthcare.
The event will include exciting innovations that will have benefit to patients in their community and demonstrate that bright ideas can come from many different places.
This year's Innovation Showcase will take place on the 20th of November at
The Clervaux Exchange Conference & Business Centre in Jarrow.
According to the Kings Fund, an independent charity in England, "each year, community health services have about 100 million patient contacts and account for around £10 billion of the NHS budget and one-fifth of the total NHS workforce."
Community healthcare services play an important role in treating acute and long-term conditions, helping people to live independently in their own homes.
