Local medical professionals are to be trained in French Law to access the business market overseas thanks to a forward-thinking Yorkshire company.
Medilink & UKTI are planning to host a seminar to update companies on new reforms taking place within the French healthcare system under a new law, the HPST- Regional Hospital and Patient Healthcare Law.
This new law, which will be in place by April 2010, will bring significant restructuring to the healthcare system and will devolve a high degree of authority to the regional level. Central administration resources should be reduced by 50%, as administration is handled regionally. At a local level it is intended that administrations will have authority over contracts, service providers, resource allocation
and purchasing. The regional governing bodies will automatically include elected representatives such as the local Mayors.
Changes are already being implemented in order to have the necessary infrastructure in place by April 2010, the rationale behind these reforms is to reduce costs and increase efficiency in the patient care pathway – reducing hospital stays and streamlining treatment.
Any companies interested in learning more about the French healthcare reforms and accessing the French market should contact David Howarth: d.howarth@medilink.co.uk to express their interest in the seminar.
