British innovation showcased on first UK Pavilion at FIME 2010

Pioneering companies from Great Britain will this year be exhibiting on the British Pavilion at the Federation of International Medical Equipment (FIME) for the first time to showcase cutting edge innovations and ground breaking technologies.
Taking place in Miami, Florida, from 11-13 August 2010, the three day event is the premier international healthcare event in the U.S. calendar, attracting over 30,000 visitors with delegates from all medical backgrounds across the US, Canada and the Central America regions.
It is the first time the UK has had a pavilion at the show and British companies are looking forward to meeting with potential US distributors and forging new business partnerships.
Among the world’s leading innovations being showcased on the UK Pavilion is a pioneering laparoscopic device designed to aid gastric band deployment. The articulating instrument Logi™Flex, designed and manufactured by Surgical Innovations, uses both reusable and disposal elements (Resposable™) to offer American surgeons a cost effective, high quality solution.
The award winning company, who has recently been recognized by Her Mastery the Queen for their clinical and technical excellence, design and manufacture a wide range of pioneering Resposable® instrumentation – of which will be on display at the exhibition.

Another example of UK innovation that will be on the UK Pavilion is Clement Clark who will be showcasing their revolutionary respiratory portfolio at the
show.
Supporting clinicians in the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of respiratory disease, Clement Clarke offer consistent accuracy, affordable quality, superior drug delivery, improved efficiencies and reliable results - treating patients at home or in a clinic.
Recognized as being the ‘gold standard’ in treating asthma, Clement’s products are also used for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), oxygen therapy, cystic fibrosis and allergy rhinitis.
Their Peak Flow Meter and Inspiratory Flow Meter are just two of the cutting-edge products that Clement they will have on show at FIME.

The UK Pavilion is being organised by Medilink Yorkshire and Humber and UK Trade &Investment (UKTI), a Government Department that helps UK-based companies succeed in the global economy.
The exhibition will act as a platform for the companies to present their world-leading healthcare technologies into the US and Central American marketplace; highlighting how they are transforming the lives of patients and clinicians across the globe.
