Two funding streams and a fact finding workshop are available for assisted living companies; promoting innovation in the region and encouraging collaboration within the sector.

The first funding stream is the Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Joint Programme Call for Proposals 2010 AAL-2010-3. The objective of which is to enhance the quality of life of older people and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies.

The second available tranche is the Assisted Living: Economic and Business Models and Social and Behavioural Studies. The aim of this call is to address needs identified in the areas of Economic and Business Models and Social and Behavioural Studies; providing improved evidence to underpin industry and social enterprise, encourage investment in and implementation of assisted living services and technology.

The Social and Behavioural Studies theme will aim to better understand the interactions between Assisted Living technologies and services and individuals, families and communities.

Details on both streams can be found here

The Technology Strategy Board (TSB) & Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) Briefing Workshop will bring together academics, clinicians and business representatives to discuss the recent £10M investment in research projects in the sector; looking into the economic and business models as well as social and behavioural challenges facing the assisted living sector.
