The University of Bradford has been awarded a £1.3m grant through the UK-China Science Bridge Awards to help accelerate its deployment of research knowledge and strengthen its current research links with China.
In collaboration with a number of Chinese organisations ranging from top universities, State Key laboratories and innovative companies, this project will be managed and delivered through Polymer Centre of Industrial Collaboration (Polymer CIC), Institute of Pharmaceutical Innovation (IPI) and Institute of Cancer Therapeutics in the next 3 years.
Medilink (Y&H), a partner in the project, will provide a channel for industry engagement and commercialisation leveraging their special relationship with China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), China’s largest medical device trade association.
Building on their existing links, the University’s flagship research facility will use the funding to promote product invention, design, and development through the stimulation of open innovation for Pharmaceutical Sciences in particular drug discovery and delivery and medical technology.
The project will improve the transfer of research and expertise from the research base to businesses and other users and also develop links with world-class universities and high-tech businesses.
In recognition of its ongoing work with China the University of Bradford have also been awarded Yorkshire & Humber China Business Awards and the Yorkshire Forward’s Open Innovation Award at the recent Yorkshire and Humber award events.
