As part of its Enabling Innovation Initiative, UK Trade and Investment is organising a major programme of business activity in China.
Enabling Innovation – UK China partnership in ICT was launched in October 2008, with support from some of the UK’s leading industry players such as ARM, BT, Sony Ericsson & Vodafone. To date, the initiative has helped over 100 UK companies to better understand the market opportunities and potential technology collaborations with top Chinese multinationals.
The activity programme includes trade delegations of around 50 companies during the week commencing 5th July. The programme of activity will include:
• Seminars and panel sessions
• Site visits to key Chinese companies
• One to one meetings
• Table top exhibitions
• UK Government hosted networking events
• PR Support Package
Three simultaneous trade delegations will visit China in the margins of Shanghai World Expo.

Delegation 2 - Consumer Electronics & Electronic Design and will visit Beijing; Chengdu; Qingdao; Shanghai
Delegation 3 - e-Health & telemedicine and will visit Beijing; Chengdu; Shenzhen; Shanghai
There will be a management charge of £250 (inc VAT) for each company taking part. See attached PDF's for detailed information and an application form.
The World Expo is a large-scale, global, non-commercial event. Expo aims to promote the exchange of ideas and development of the world economy, culture, science and technology, to allow exhibitors to publicise and display their achievements and improve international relationships. Accordingly, the World Expo with its 150-year history is regarded as the Olympic Games of the economy, science and technology. The Shanghai World Expo will run from May through to the end of October 2010 and is themed “Better City Better Life”.
