Today the majority of R&D performed by Swedish companies is outsourced and steadily increasing. At the same time, the number of clinical trials taking place in Sweden has halved over the last 5 years and companies such as AstraZeneca look for new outsourcing partners.
For the fourth year, UK Trade & Investment Sweden is organising a business development tour for Contract Research Organisations (CROs) to Sweden on 24-25 September 2012. UKTI will profile your company to the Göteborg, Stockholm/Uppsala Life Science cluster; with over 700 Life Science companies this cluster represents almost 70% of the total Swedish market. UKTI will facilitate valuable, relevant and targeted introductions to potential clients among pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the market through collaborating with AstraZeneca and Business Region Göteborg, SwedenBIO (The Swedish Life Science Industry Association) and Karolinska Institute.
The tour will start with a meeting with the R&D Procurement team at AstraZeneca, Mölndal followed by a seminar in collaboration with Business Region Göteborg. The mission will then continue to Stockholm with a seminar in collaboration with SwedenBIO followed by a Gala dinner at the Residence of the British Ambassador to Sweden with high profile guests from the Swedish and British Life Science Industry.
