As part of the Global Manufacturing Festival, The University of Sheffield are holding an event to inform their industry partners how they can work with the City’s knowledge base and build further collaborative partnerships that realise commercial benefit. Find out how their engineers are contributing towards successes in the manufacturing marketplace.
A particular focus of the event is how you can access the expertise within further and higher education via student projects while at the same time contributing towards inspiring our next generation of engineers. Join colleagues from across the manufacturing community, along with academic staff and students from our region.
The event is being hosted by Firth Rixson and is being run in partnership with Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield College.
Key elements of the event will include:
• A showcase of projects which demonstrates how businesses are benefitting from working with the City’s knowledge base
• Find out how you can access the expertise, equipment and funding to support projects within your company
• Networking sessions to support the development of new collaborative projects
• Demonstrations of Hot Working on the Firth Rixson factory tour
• A display of innovative tools, technologies and techniques developed by the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre with Boeing (AMRC)
