Street: Helix House, University of York
Workshops aimed at academic or other staff from across Yorkshire and Humber who are interested in how to design and deliver CPD programmes in an accessible, exciting and relevant format for students of all ages and backgrounds are being offered at an event in York later this month.
Bringing together individuals from academia, clinical settings and industry, Healthcare Technologies companies from across Yorkshire and Humber are invited to attend CPD Design Workshops that are being developed in tandem with an exciting new range of courses created to meet the current and future needs of the Healthcare Technologies sector.
It will be of particular value to anyone (lecturers, researchers), who wishes to deliver the modules that they normally teach in lecture format (over 10 – 12 weeks) to a more participative short format (1-4 day) that uses facilitation skills to enable learning and increase student engagement.
The Workshops will help turn learning materials into shorter, more concentrated courses to increase the accessibility of lessons to ‘non-standard’ students.
If you’re interested in delivering short courses, the CPD Design Workshop is for you.
The CPD programmes aim to equip you with the relevant skills to engage and enthuse students; providing the right skills to create the right learning environment for your audience and facilitate learning effectively. The workshops will cover the following areas:
• Reviewing how people learn and the challenge of delivering to different learning preferences
• Help in understanding the principles and practice of Accelerated Learning Techniques
• Showing how the Whole Brain Model relates to teaching
• Enhancing the understanding the difference between lecturing and facilitating
• Applying the principles to the challenges of group working
This event is free for all Yorkshire and Humber Companies. For more information see the flyer attached.
