Street: The Portman Hotel, 22 Portman Square
The 2010 programme for this event reflects the unprecedented challenges and opportunities for providers of all types of care service. While operating businesses have generally fared well since the global credit crisis of Autumn 2008, many over-levered operators are still struggling to achieve financial stability after the excesses of the credit boom. Meanwhile, ‘payback’ time is beckoning, with the expectation of severe cutbacks in public sector spending from 2011/12. This will be a challenging time especially for those providers with heavy exposure to public sector purchasers, for example in the specialist areas of learning disabilities and mental health.
With top level contributions from the Department of Health, Care Quality Commission, providers, commissioners and expert advisers, the conference will seek to shed light on the direction of travel for the long term care sector, and to highlight the opportunities as well as the threats to providers who fail to respond to a rapidly changing market place.
